The Urban Belonging project exhibition brings together the Ipswich Romanian Community, Suffolk Pride and the Suffolk Windrush Select Committee to explore Ipswich's history through their own creative projects, inspired by the Ipswich map.

By sharing personal stories, lived experiences, and community memories, participants highlighted the buildings and spaces that matter most to them. Combined with the historical layers captured by the Historic Towns Trust map, these voices help tell a richer, more inclusive story of Ipswich's past and present.

See it at The Hold Ipswich until Saturday 13 June. Check out the film Home, a collaboration between The HIVE Ipswich Community, DancEast and Cathy Waller here https://orlo.uk/lGrpU

Our audience development manager got this perfect photograph of Ed Sheeran on his way to perform on Ipswich Waterfront today. Sadly, we didn't get the chance to invite him for a well-deserved cuppa in our cafe and a tour. Next time Ed!

It's Volunteers' Week! And to celebrate we want to share what our amazing volunteers do here at Suffolk Archives.

Jordan has shared his story. From an interaction at a university volunteering fayre to volunteering with us for more than two years, Jordan has truly left his mark by helping us make our oral history collections more accessible.

Today we wave goodbye to our fantastic exhibition Beyond Lables: Celebrating Disability in Suffolk. Made possible with funding from The National Lottery Heritage Fund

Thank you to everyone who visited, supported and contributed to the exhibition, it wouldn't have been possible without you.

The legacy lives on and very soon we will be launching a virtual 360 degree tour of the exhibition and book so you can continue to explore stories of lived experience of disability in Suffolk past and present.
