Something exciting has arrived for this year's visitors... If you climb the 176 steps to the top of Inveraray Bell Tower you just might be the proud new owner of a shiny new commemorative badge......

Come along any day between 10:30-16:30 to see if you can conquer the spiral staircase and witness our beautiful bells and views!

Some pictures from the Ringing and Cycling group; Saturday's visiting peal band. Not only did they ring for over 3 hours but they also made it to the top of the Rest and Be Thankful in the middle of a heatwave! 💪🚴

Some fantastic ringing from our visiting band yesterday who rang a peal of Stedman Caters (5045 changes). What a joyful way to start the summer season and what a treat for our first visitors!

The band was made up of cyclists... while they didn't cycle TO Inveraray, they were planning on completing the Rest and Be Thankful pass today 😰. A number of the ringers were in Torridon this week too, getting their cycling miles in 😯

We officially open for the year tomorrow morning 🥳

Keep an eye out for some of our new signage making it a lot easier to spot us from The Avenue 👀👀 and listen out for our visiting peal band, who will be making some noise between 11:00-16:00 🔔🔔🔔🔔🔔🔔🔔🔔🔔🔔

There are three days to go until we open for 2026! This year we've added a few new features to our exhibitions. The first is a touch table... What does a bell rope actually feel like? How tough is a muffle? ----->

Be careful though! Some items are heavy! ----->

There is a rope splice, handy for quick and long lasting fixes ----->

A muffle, for when we remember those who died during the First and Second World Wars ----->

A stay, which keeps the bell from spinning out of control ----->

And a "sally", the piece of rope a bellringer holds. There are more items to see and hold at Inveraray Bell Tower this summer! ----->

It has been busy, busy, busy at the tower as we get ready to open at the weekend. Amongst lots of planned activity we were faced with some unscheduled repair work when it was discovered that the fascia on the south-west of the roof lantern had come adrift. Investigation revealed that some of the short nails holding it on had pulled out of the wooden rafters allowing the fascia to sag. ----->

After quite a bit of pulling and pushing, the deft use of a Dewalt drill and some much longer screws, it was fixed back in place! ----->

Final repairs means that it's only 5 days until opening! We have also been making some changes to parts of the exhibition this year. Stay tuned to find out what they are 👀
