Some visitors leave us with particularly special memories. During his recent visit from France, Yann filled the Castle with music, playing the piano beautifully each evening.
This is no ordinary piano. While staying at Inveraray Castle, lyricist Alan Jay Lerner and composer Frederick Loewe used it to compose some of the music for My Fair Lady. The musical opened on Broadway in 1956 and was later adapted into the celebrated 1964 film starring Audrey Hepburn as Eliza Doolittle.
More than 70 years later, the piano is still filling the Castle with music.
If you could hear one song played on it, what would you choose?

During a recent social media session with our tour guide Kevin, who was sharing some of his vast Castle knowledge with us, he sprang into action when a visitor asked about an interesting piece of Jacobite weaponry on the Armoury Hall walls.

As the final weeks of summer begin to unfold at Inveraray Castle, we are reflecting on some of the special moments that have filled the season.
It was a great pleasure to welcome the immensely talented pianist Yann, visiting from France, whose beautiful playing filled the Castle at the end of each day for our guests to enjoy. His music brought the rooms to life and provided a wonderful close to each day.
Although summer may be drawing to a close, there is still plenty of the season left to enjoy. We look forward to welcoming many more visitors to explore the Castle, gardens and wider estate over the coming weeks.
