The Parish Council have had an area in the playpark re-seeded so could we kindly ask that residents avoid the marked off area to let the grass grow. Many thanks.

As some of you may have noticed that there seems to be a little bit of vandalism in the village lately.
In the Play Park we are finding fragments of broken glass on a
regular basis on the basketball hard surface area. This poses a risk to children playing in the park, especially during the summer when many children run around barefoot. Can we ask that you do not take any glass items into the Play Park, and especially request that glass bottles are not thrown onto this hard surface. We ask that parents communicate this to their children and make them aware of this hazard. Whilst the PC carry out regular checks, they cannot be held responsible for injury.
As you also know health & safety plays a much bigger part in our lives now and we are now governed by "inspections" relating to this issue. The timber trail is being vandalised, leaving big holes in the ground that we are then obliged to do something about. This is the same as happened with the bike track. Very sadly, times have moved on and to replace any playpark equipment now costs thousands instead of hundreds so we will be monitoring the situation over the next couple of months before we make any decisions about their replacements. When we replace these items some of the cost has to come out of our proportion of your council tax so it will be you paying for this behaviour.
If you see anything that would help us to stop this trouble please let us know.
