Hythe Squadron Air Training Corps

Hythe Squadron Air Training Corps 2495 (Hythe) Squadron - We are a very active ATC Squadron participating in loads of fun Activities from Flying to Duke of Edinburgh's Expedition. No problem.

Ready for a challenge? As a cadet you'll have the opportunity to do things that others only dream about. Want real flight experience? How about heading out on adventurous training and camps, sometimes overseas? Normal for cadets. Competitive sports, Drill, Target Rifle Shooting, Music, Abseiling, Engineering projects? Our list of activities is long, varied and open to all cadets. Yes it's a challe

nge, but that's what life's all about. Get a head start. We are accepting young people from age 12 (and in Year 8). We are also accepting staff applications. Find your role. Let's face it - where else would you be given the opportunity to fly solo in a glider or powered aircraft when you're 17? Whatever you do with your life, at the end of your time as a cadet you'll be self-motivated, confident and ready for anything.

Continuing on the learning and training theme. Two of our cadets have been learning all about Jet engines as part of their Master cadet training. What better way to learn than to do. They both got together to put together this 3d printed jet engine which lights up and moves, they did this all without any instructions and minimal input from instructors.

As Part of the Progressive Training Syllabus essential First Aid is the first Blue badge for the cadets. The whole squadron either qualified or refreshed their skills or gained it for the first time over two nights, including two of our staff. The one skill we hope they won't need to use but glad they have in case.

NPAS Bournemouth. With thanks to 2515 Ringwood & Fordingbridge Squadron Air Cadets for the loan of a minibus and CWC member, Hythe Squadron Air Training Corps had an amazing exchange of parade night for a visit to Bournemouth NPAS.
