Last month saw one of our first litter picks, with many more to come.

The sun was shining, (maybe a little too much) and lots of fun was had. A massive thank you to those that did come out and brave the heat.

Together the volunteers with Councillor Philip Dowd and members of Rotary Club of Hythe and Watersidecollected over 6 bags of rubbish, a metal Christmas tree stand and half a bathroom sink!

Each volunteer went home with a goodie bag, crafts and activities to do in the shade!

Some of you may have already seen the sculpture on Prospect Place. Thank you from us to Ella Fielding for creating such a poignant piece in such horrible weather conditions on remembrance day.

A memorial sculpture has been made from the cut down Scots Pine by Ella Fielding Sculptor. We had plans to unveil the sculpture on Heritage Day but due to the condition of the tree we have been advised not to cover it and let the newly sculptured remembrance poppy breathe and be exposed to the natural elements as soon as possible.

There are still additions to be added by the Waterside Woodcarvers before the 27th June, Heritage Day event.

Please keep an eye out for any more plans as we would like to get as many people down, to see the finished sculpture, as possible.
