Can we win the ‘People’s Choice’ award for our Green Flag parks?

Back in July, the Lower Leas Coastal Park and the Royal Military Canal were both awarded the prestigious Green Flag status once again.

This is the 8th consecutive year for the canal and the 11th consecutive year for the Coastal Park!

The flag recognises the hard work and skill of the staff who look after the parks but it doesn’t reflect how popular the parks are with the public.

So now it’s your turn to vote for your favourite!

Let’s see if we can we get one of our Green Flag parks in to the people’s choice winning top 10.

Get fit for FREE!

Are you in danger of not keeping your New Year’s resolution of going to the gym once a week?

If so, our Green Gym could be just the thing for you!

Every Thursday, between 10am-1pm we’re at the Royal Military Canal in Hythe, saving trees, clearing scrubland and creating an environment fit for our wildlife to thrive, and easier for our residents to explore the Canal. Our volunteers not only help improve the environment, have lots of fun and get fit at the same time! All equipment is provided, as are refreshments.

It’s hard work but you can see from the photos that you can make a real difference!

Even though it was raining yesterday people still turned up and we helped create a better environment for frogs and toads, and saved a few trees that were being strangled by ivy. We also met lots of lovely dogs!
