Tameside South and Longdendale Foodbank We help local people in crisis by providing a friendly smile, a cup of tea and a food parcel.

This week is Mental Health Awareness Week

Did you know that food banks are about so much more than food? They’re places of kindness, connection, and hope- where people can have a cup of tea, feel welcomed, and be truly listened to.

For many, it’s one of the first places they’ve felt heard in a long time.

The cost of living crisis isn’t just affecting finances - it’s having a real impact on mental health too. Worrying about money, food, and essentials can be overwhelming.

That’s why support like this matters so much 💚

For ways that you could help us to keep being able to offer this support check out our website https://salford.foodbank.org.uk/give-help/

Thanks to everyone who continues to support us. We couldn’t do it without you.

At our foodbanks we like to give out a few non essentials as well as our staple foods. Christmas and Easter always bring lots of these goodies but around this time our supplies dip so if you’d like to offer a little sweet treat we’d be happy to pass it on.

Many thanks to all those who donated last month at Tesco, Hattersley, Asda, Hyde or through their church. Your contributions helped us stock our shelves. This month we find ourselves short of the following items but as always any donation is much appreciated.

Hunger in the UK ISN'T about food. It's about people not having enough money to survive.

What else would you add? 💚

Did you know food banks provide more than food? 🤔

Many food banks also provide advice on money matters and connect people to practical support to make it less likely they’ll need to turn to a food bank again.

Plus, staff and volunteers are always there for a cuppa and a chat when people are going through tough times ☕ 💚

This extra support can be a lifeline – especially in winter.

If you can, please donate to help make sure food banks can continue to be there for everyone who needs them right now 👉 https://bit.ly/4jNQOvI

We were pleased to welcome Jonathan Reynolds, our MP, to Hattersley foodbank on Friday. It was a good opportunity for users, volunteers and Trustees to chat to him about our work. He was interested to know local residents’ thoughts on how Pride in Place funding could best be used. We will follow the progress of this programme with interest and engage in future community involvement.
