History of Huntingdon High Street

History of Huntingdon High Street Built in 1573 and known to Oliver Cromwell. Many original features exist in this wonderful timber framed building.

In April 2011 147 High Street, Huntingdon was up for sale. It looked like a Victorian building with a back yard that hadn't been entered for over 9 years. Looking upstairs in the attic the floorboards were almost a foot wide and that was the first sign the building was built 500 years before and had been around at the time of Oliver Cromwell and King Henry VIII. We fell in love with the place and

our offer was accepted. So one of the very few shops for sale was about to reveal its past and it's future. The shop has already won two awards and bears it's Civic Society plaque with pride.
