Magpas Air Ambulance

Magpas Air Ambulance Magpas Air Ambulance is a charity that provides lifesaving care 24/7. With you, we save lives.

Magpas Air Ambulance brings crucial lifesaving care by land and air to patients in life-threatening emergencies in the East of England and beyond, 24/7. The Magpas Air Ambulance medical team receives enhanced training which allows them to offer procedures and treatments at the scene, like general anaesthetic, which are usually only available in hospital. This means that the frontline care the team

delivers doesn’t just save lives, it helps seriously ill and injured people return to a good quality of life. The charity relies on generous public donations to continue saving lives.

The increased demand for Magpas Air Ambulance and the lifesaving service we provide is here to stay.

Magpas Air Ambulance has just experienced its busiest month on record, with our advanced medical team responding to 197 emergency calls in May. This follows the charity being called to more critically ill and injured patients than ever before last year.

We are proud to be able to respond and be there for every patient who urgently needs our care across the region. But it's important to remember that none of this would be possible without the incredible generosity of our supporters, who enable us to provide this vital service 24/7.

With you, we save lives.

When a person goes into cardiac arrest, bystander CPR can double their chances of survival.

We’re incredibly proud to have volunteers who not only support our charity but also empower their communities with lifesaving knowledge.

In the past year, our volunteer CPR trainers spent over 643 hours teaching lifesaving skills to local communities—helping thousands of people learn how to step in when it matters most.

Team building with a difference!

In the past year, volunteers from seven local businesses joined Magpas Air Ambulance; most took a day out of their busy schedules to step away from their usual roles, spend time with team members and give something back to their local lifesaving charity. The teams helped with everything from practical maintenance to event preparation, and even got involved in washing our rapid response vehicles.

We’re hugely grateful to every volunteer who took time away from the day-to-day to show their support.

Join us for a day in Parliament representing Magpas Air Ambulance and the wider air ambulance sector alongside Air Ambulances UK

The event brought together MPs, Lords and sector representatives to discuss the vital role air ambulance charities play in communities nationwide, as well as the challenges facing the sector.

Every 12 minutes, an air ambulance charity is dispatched to a medical emergency somewhere in the UK.

Here in the East of England, Magpas Air Ambulance experienced its busiest year on record in 2025, responding to 1,948 incidents and providing advanced pre-hospital emergency care across a population of 10 million people.

It was a valuable opportunity to share the realities of emergency care, connect with colleagues from across the sector, and help ensure the voices of our patients, crews, supporters and volunteers are heard where decisions are made.

Within our headquarters, we're fortunate to have volunteers helping across all areas of our service.

They can be the first point of contact for visitors; provide support in our offices with admin and finance; help keep our day-to-day operations and aftercare programmes running; and even help with building maintenance and gardening.

They are a constant source of support for our teams and, in 2025, volunteered more than 2,139 hours of their time at our HQ!
