Did you know the Knife Angel is currently in Cambridgeshire?

The Knife Angel is a 27-foot-tall statue constructed from over 100,000 blunted, surrendered, and seized blades.

The statue tours the UK to raise awareness about knife crime and serve as a memorial to victims.

The photo shows our colleagues from Communities Service East Cambridgeshire at the opening, they found it very impactful.

The statue gives a unique opportunity to reflect, think and talk about the difficult topic of knife crime in the UK.

The Knife Angel will be on Palace Green, facing Ely Cathedral until 17 June 2026.

The heat health alert for the East of England has been upgraded to amber from 2pm today (22 May) until 5pm on 28 May, with temperatures set to soar over the next few days.

While we hope people enjoy the warm weather, please remember to do so safely and look out for others who may be at a higher risk of becoming unwell.

If you have to go outside, try to keep out of the sun between 11am and 3pm when it’s at its hottest, walk in the shade, apply sunscreen regularly, wear a hat and light clothes, and drink plenty of water.

Staying indoors? Keep your home cool by closing windows and curtains in rooms that face the sun. ☀️
