Caring for a looked-after child transforms both your life and theirs.
As LGBTQ+ people, you know what it means to develop your identity and navigate sharing information about yourself with others. You know what it’s like to just want to be yourself and to be loved for who you are. How it is to feel different or outside the majority. As a community, the LGBTQ+ community is well-placed to help adopted children and those in foster care navigate the reality of their lives. It can be a real strength to relate to what it feels like to be adopted or fostered and what it feels like to be ‘different’. We recognise the resilience and determination and the challenges that you have overcome. The law protects you and we will welcome you.
If you know you have a lot of love to give and would like to help children who need loving homes, and adoption or fostering seem like routes to go down to start a family, please get in touch for a friendly and informal chat.
