Got a budding potter at home? The Mud Club at The Potter's Hut, based at Humbie Hub, is a hands-on pottery club for children aged 8 to 14.

Each week brings a mix of guided projects and free creative time, working with proper clay and tools, with everything fired and ready to take home. Screen-free, mess encouraged and no such thing as a mistake, only happy accidents.

While they're getting stuck into clay, why not pop into the cafe for a coffee and a slice of cake.

We're looking for a part time cook to join the team at Humbie Hub, three days a week, 8am to 4pm, with weekend shifts on a rota basis. It's a fast paced, open plan kitchen, so you'll need to be comfortable keeping up when things get busy.

Previous experience is preferred but not essential, we're happy to train the right person as long as you're passionate about cooking. Salary based on experience.

Westerly in the Wilderness is the exhibition currently on show at Humbie Hub, running until 26 September.

It brings together landscape paintings from two artists with strong ties to Scotland, Val Menon and Myrtle Pont, both drawn to wild coastlines and open countryside for their work.

Pop in for a browse next time you're passing, the exhibition is free to view alongside the shop, cafe and post office in the heart of Humbie.

Short and sweet - and we could not have put it better ourselves.

Humbie Hub really is a lot of things in one place: a village shop, a Post Office, a cafe for coffee and lunch, locally made goodies, gifts and more. All in the heart of rural East Lothian.

If you have not popped in recently, it is worth a visit.

Fancy trying your hand at pottery? The Potter's Hut, based right here at Humbie Hub, has a new block of adult classes starting the week of 17 August.

Over seven weeks you'll learn hand building techniques like coiling, pinching and slab work, along with a chance to try the wheel. Small groups of up to eight, with all clay, tools, glazes and firing included.

Classes run Monday and Friday mornings, and Tuesday and Thursday evenings. A lovely excuse to visit Humbie, whether you finish with a browse in the shop or lunch in the cafe.
