Kirklees Green Party is concerned by rising tensions in Azad Kashmir.

Families should not be cut off from loved ones. Peaceful protest, democratic rights and freedom of expression must be respected.

We urge all parties to engage in dialogue, reduce tensions and protect local communities. We also call on Members of Parliament to raise these concerns with the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office and to engage with the Pakistan High Commission to help ensure that the rights and welfare of affected communities are upheld.

A fantastic Kirklees Green Party Eid Meal joined by Green Councillors, members and non-members across the Kirklees borough, as well as guests from Sheffield, Manchester and London too.

It was great to have Hannah Spencer Green MP for Gorton & Denton join us for a buffet at Huddersfield’s Sher e Akbar restaurant.

We're holding our first community clean up of the summer in Greenhead!

Councillors Toby Cooper, Maryam Jawaid and Richard Burton will be hosting a community cleanup event in Birkby on the 11th June, starting at 1:00PM.

Meet up outside Sona Jewellers on Blacker Road, Birkby.

Litterpickers and bags will be provided and make sure to bring a suitable pair of gloves 💚
