🏮✨ HELP US LIGHT UP HOUGHTON FEAST! ✨🏮

We’re getting ready for the Houghton Feast Lantern Parade on Friday 2nd October, and we need your help to make it a spectacular celebration of light! 🌟

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 We still have one free lantern making workshop so bring the family along!

📅 Sunday 13th September
🕚 11:00am – 1:00pm

🎨 All the materials and supplies will be provided, so all you need to bring is your imagination!

🏮 Make one to carry…

Create your own lantern and bring it along to the Lantern Parade on Friday 2nd October. Walk together with your family and friends and help us create a beautiful trail of lights through Houghton.

❤️ Or make one to donate!

Can't make the Lantern Parade? That's absolutely fine!

You can still come along to a workshop, make a lantern and donate it to the Houghton Feast team. Your lantern could then be given to someone else to carry during the parade, helping us make sure there are plenty of lights for everyone to enjoy.

✨ Everyone is welcome! ✨

You don't need to be part of the Houghton Feast Opening Ceremony or a member of a group to take part. Whether you're coming along with your children, grandchildren, friends or simply want to get creative and support your community, we'd love to see you.

We’re getting ready for the Houghton Feast Opening Ceremony on Friday 2nd October, We are planning a Lantern Parade through Rectory Park after the ceremony and we need your help to make it a spectacular celebration of light! 🌟

And that’s a wrap!

What a lovely time we’ve had over our summer programme.

Over the past few days, we’ve had a lovely visit from Gordon from British Red Cross who taught our young people emergency first aid! ⛑️ We all learnt a lot and had a great time, thank you for coming down!

We’ve had a fab time today spray painting 🫟wooden boards to be used for a trailer, keep your eyes peeled for the finished product being out and about in the next few weeks👀

Our young people have done us all so proud over the past few weeks. I am incredibly proud of how thoughtful they all are, especially their idea to write thank you cards and hand out chocolates to the nearby residents to say thank you for tolerating us and our noise throughout the summer🍫

Youth club is on a small pause while staff have a little break, keep your eyes peeled for upcoming posts about when we will be returning.

It was a pleasure to see how involved our young people got in our “Taskmaster” day. We had several challenges, including ‘throw the tea bag into a mug from the furthest distance’☕️ and ‘find the most hat-like hat”👒.

PLEASE NOTE: due to the bad weather, spray painting has been postponed until MONDAY! We still have activities planned and hope the rain doesn’t stop you all from coming down!

What a fantastic end of the week we had last week!

We took part in Together for Children’s Summerfest event in Rectory Park.

Our young people had so much fun joining in with football⚽️, pizza making🍕, rock climbing🧗, seeing how many people we could fit in a police car🚓, and lots more!

We also had fun joining in with a NERF war🔫 on the field!

Today we’re making our own pizzas! 🍕

The past two days have been busy, busy, busy!

The weather has been hit and miss so we’ve been inside for our movie day🎬, doing quizzes🤔, designing our T-shirts for today’s Colour Run🎨, playing football and tennis in the park⚽️🎾!

Today we are taking part in Together for Children’s colour run at Rectory Park.

PLEASE NOTE: Young people can either meet the youth work team at Churchill square at 11:30am and walk down to Rectory Park with us, or meet us at Rectory Park at 12pm.

🎨✨ **Calling All Crafters!** ✨🎨

Preparations for this year's **Houghton Feast Parade** are in full swing, and we'd love you to join us at our **FREE Parade Craft Workshops!**

Come along and help create colourful **props, banners, decorations and parade pieces** for this year's Houghton Feast Parade.

🌟 **All materials are provided FREE of charge**—just bring your imagination!

Whether you're taking part in the parade or just enjoy getting creative, everyone is welcome.

💜 **Not taking part in the parade? No problem!**

We'd still love to see you! We're looking for as many helping hands as possible to make decorations for this year's parade. Whether you're an experienced crafter or just fancy lending a hand, every contribution helps make the parade extra special for our community.

🎉 This year's parade theme is **"Together We Feast"**, so come and help us create something amazing together.

What a jam packed week we’ve had!

We’ve been so busy with lots of different activities, including:

✨Our big water fight on Tuesday🔫, complete with our slip n slide🛝.

✨On Wednesday we spent lots of time in the woods🌳 playing hide n seek with our walkie talkies🫣.

✨Thursday we made our own burgers🍔 and cooked them on the BBQ. We then spent some time at the park playing tennis🎾 and football!⚽️

We’re not on over the weekend, but are back on Monday for our movie day!🎬
