🏏 What a brilliant day at the Brighton & Hove Discoverability Cricket Day!

The event was packed with opportunities to get involved, with plenty of activities and workshops taking place around the cricket pitch. It created a fun, welcoming atmosphere where everyone could take part in their own way.

It was fantastic to see so many people coming together, catching up with old friends and meeting new ones along the way.

🌟 We had a fantastic time attending the Big BOBS event in Horsham, hosted by Culture Shift. BOBS stands for Being Our Best Selves and brought people together for a fun-filled day of friendship, creativity and wellbeing.

There were lots of opportunities to get involved, including group activities, dancing, singing and creative workshops. One activity encouraged us to think about the things we enjoy and what makes us happy, creating a wonderful reminder of the positive things in our lives.

It was a great social event, giving everyone the chance to reconnect with old friends, meet new people and make lasting memories. Thank you to Culture Shift for hosting such a positive and inclusive event!💙🌟

Our Reminiscent Stars Group love to step back in time and this time were reliving the 1960s ✌️🎶

Looking through books filled with photos and memories sparked so many conversations about the toys people played with, the hairstyles and fashion trends, favourite songs and stories.

Trying on accessories and listening to classic 60s music always brings the era to life, creating lots of smiles, laughter and shared memories along the way 💜

⚽🥗 In our football session, we spent some time talking about why exercise is important, healthy eating and portion sizes. It was a good discussion and everyone shared their thoughts and experiences.

After that, we went out into the garden and played red light 🛑 green light 🟢 while practising passing and ball control skills ⚽. We finished the session with a friendly match and everyone got involved throughout 👏

⚽️ We attended football friendly matches at Lancing Football Club, organised by Sussex Football Association. We took part in mini matches against other local day services throughout the day. 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️🥅

🤝 The sessions gave us opportunities to develop teamwork, communication and physical activity skills within a structured and supportive environment. We played alongside Burnside and took part in matches against a range of other services. ⚽️👏

🏅 We all engaged positively in the activities and demonstrated great sportsmanship during the matches. The event was well organised and provided a fantastic opportunity for community participation, social inclusion and building confidence through sport. 🌟💙⚽️

🎂 We entered Burnside’s Bake Off cake competition and came 3rd place 🥉 Well done to everyone involved 👏

The brief was to include a vegetable, so our cake had beetroot and courgette in it, along with plenty of chocolate 🍫🥕 It was decorated as an allotment 🌱🍓

A great effort from everyone and we’re really pleased with the result 👍

This week we celebrated Nurses Day by learning the sign for Nurse! 🩺✨

We talked about the amazing work nurses do every day to help and care for people, and everyone enjoyed practising the sign together 💙

🚓 We recently welcomed officers from Sussex Police alongside the Neighbourhood Wardens to the centre for an engaging and interactive workshop session. 👮‍♂️👮‍♀️

❓ The visit gave everyone the opportunity to take part in a Q&A, ask questions, and learn more about the important work carried out within the community.

🦺 People also had the chance to try on police equipment and sit inside the police vehicle, making the session hands-on, inclusive, and enjoyable for all involved. 🚔

💬 It was a really positive experience that encouraged participation, community engagement, and confidence in accessing local support services.

🇬🇧 VE Day Celebrations 🇬🇧

We began the day by taking part in a 2 minute silence 🌺 to show our respect and remembrance.

After that, we got stuck into some fun games 🎯🎲, with lots of laughs and friendly competition.

We also tried on costumes, and looked at rations. 🍱

We also enjoyed freshly made scones 🧁 from our Star Bakers ⭐, which were a real highlight of the day. 🇬🇧✨
