So that's a pathetic 0.5% growth in the year since Labour won the election on the back of a manifesto promising record growth.

Why did people forget even after 14 years how little Labour know about free market economics despite all the warnings?

And this bad news comes before the reckless spending yesterday.

Anyone would think a low level staffer from accounts was running the economy instead of a serious economist with a long track record of delivering results for big business.

Oh wait...

The day before the spending review we learnt unemployment rose from 1.46m to 1.61m since the election as Labours "stabilising of the economy" as they like to parrot continues.

Inflation is up. Unemployment is up. Borrowing is up. Taxes are up. Manufacturing is down. Business confidence is down. GDP is well behind forecasts. Even the Governor of the Bank of England last week said it's all looking pretty uncertain and warned against more tax rises.

Not a climate to borrow, borrow, borrow, spend, spend, spend, but watch Mrs Reeves continue to bankrupt Britain as she announces more record breaking spending.

And noone can answer where the money is coming from to pay for it all.....deja vue 2005-2010 the last time they tanked the economy.

Keir Starmer's given up the Chagos islands. What's next? The Falklands? Gibraltar? Bermuda? Even Northern Ireland? The phone won't stop ringing now everyone knows there is a soft touch in Downing Street.

What a constructive opposition is there for, to make chaotic, badly run governments see the error of their ways and change course.

Let's hope the detail to be published in the autumn budget isn't a damp squib and all pensioners can avoid another freezing winter.

Promise? Similar to pre election promises like...

No increase in National Insurance?

No increase in council tax?

Cutting Energy bills?

Protecting Pensioners?

Protecting British Farming?

Compensating WASPI women?

Smashing the migrant gangs?

That kind of promise that we can all have confidence in?

The prime minister refused to set a cap on immigration but has promised it will fall “significantly”.

The latest HDC initiative to burn through council reserves as quickly as possible is to spend £7.5m replacing all the York stone flagstones and likewise the Carfax cobbles with a "coloured asphalt" all in the name of safety apparently.

The Council is quoted as saying the changes will contribute towards the creation "a thriving economy for Horsham".

Clearly they are so out of touch, they haven't noticed noone goes into Horsham town centre anymore since they put up parking charges by 300% and everyone now thrives elsewhere.

Just as the summer is about to start, what better way to "smash the gangs" as Mr Starmer promised last July than to publicly advertise the governments' plan to rent 1000s of houses for migrants arriving by boat as they have now run out of hotels such has been Labours £2 Billion record breaking year.

Vote for change they said.
