Horsforth Town Council

Horsforth Town Council The Horsforth Town Council page has been created so that we can pass information to our community. They petitioned for a Parish Council and this was granted.

Horsforth Parish Council was formed in 1999 by a group of like minded people who wanted to preserve Horsforth's sense of community and by mainly voluntary effort, improve the appearance of Horsforth. They later changed their name to Town Council but this did not increase the Council's status. Horsforth Town Council exists to act as a democratically elected forum and focus for the township of Horsf

orth. It does not provide any services itself, these are provided by Leeds City Council. All its meetings and those of its Committees are open to attendance by residents. A regular newsletter, "Horsforth Matters", is distributed to every home. It informs residents of activities
in Horsforth.

‼️A65 LEEDS ROAD UPDATE‼️
Yorkshire Water have now restored water supply to the 84 properties and have been able to delay the mains repair work until after 1900hrs this evening

After the peak traffic flows have quietened down, they will proceed to close the road and work this evening to repair the main.

The hope is, this is an easy repair and can be backfilled and reinstated quite swiftly, however until they get down on to the main, it is unknown what they may come across and the closure maybe in place over the weekend.

🚗 Tackling speeding concerns on Stanhope Drive

Following concerns raised by local residents about speeding on Stanhope Drive, Horsforth Town Council’s Planning, Licensing and Traffic Committee has been looking at what further action can be taken to improve road safety in the area.

A mobile Speed Indicator Device has previously been deployed on Stanhope Drive, helping to highlight vehicle speeds and reinforce the concerns raised by residents.

The Committee has now written to the ward City Councillors to request their support for the installation of a fixed Speed Indicator Device (SID) on Stanhope Drive.

Speed Indicator Devices display a vehicle’s speed to approaching drivers, providing an immediate reminder to slow down and helping to encourage safer driving.

We know that speeding and road safety remain important concerns for residents across Horsforth, and the Town Council will continue to work with our partners to identify practical measures that can make our roads safer.

We’ll keep residents updated as we receive further information on this request. 🚦
