On 10th June 1926 the HUDC Golf Course in Hallgarth Park was officially opened.
The first ball was struck by Mr. Charles Morrow, the chairman of the HUDC, after which there was an exhibition match between Alan and Jim Dailey, the sons of the Hornsea Golf Club Professional.
The charges were 6d (2.5p) for a round, 1/6d (7.5p) for a day, 5s (25p) for a week and 21s (£1.05) for a season ticket.
The course was closed on Sundays.
On the same day the new telephone exchange was officially opened by Mr. C. R. Thomas, The Hull Postmaster.
It was in a house on Newbegin opposite the Wesleyan Methodist Chapel.
In his speech, Mr. Thomas said that when the first telephones were installed in Hornsea in 1906-07, there were only 25 subscribers. Now there were 175 subscribers and 4 lines to Hull.
Two operators would be on duty during the day and one at night.
Also on 10th June 1926, the HUDC signed the agreement with Hull Corporation to enable the latter to provide the town's water supply.
