Yesterday evening, 05/09/26, three of our crew members attended Hornsea Ex-Servicemen's Club to be presented with an incredible £5000 donation for our charity, raised by they're charity bingo nights throughout the week. An absolutely wonderful amount of money that will go a long way towards helping us stay on call, 24/7 365.

The support we receive from our local community is fantastic.

Thank you so much to everyone who made this happen, from all at Hornsea Inshore Rescue.

We've had a busy week here at Hornsea Inshore Rescue and for our training officer Tom, thankfully not with call-outs, but with lots of training throughout the week for new and existing crew.

Colin is now a fully fledged member of our crew, having successfully completed all of his training courses, finished this week with the completion of our in house 2 day crew competency course and assesment. We'd like to wish a huge congratulations to Colin and welcome him to the team.

Whilst Colin was completing the course, it was a great opportunity for Carl to helm the boat throughout, as he is currently working towards becoming a coxwain, being able to be signed off on multiple competencies, leaving just a few remaining before being fully trained.

Further to this, our regular Thursday night training session took place, were our coxwains practiced stern recoveries and managing a recovery of a casualty from the beach, with crew being dropped off and putting our training dummy Fred into the stretcher and transferring him to the boat. A very physical exercise, but an essential part of our training.

All of our volunteers give up many hours of their free time to make sure they are trained to the highest standard for when the pagers sound.

Without all the support we receive from our local community, with donations, we wouldn't be able to offer the level of training we do, and for that, we thank you all.

Below is a video of a stern recovery with Carl on the helm.

Thank you!

We'd like to say a huge thank you to Kate Spencer-Payne who set up this fundraiser for us after the tragic event that took place about a week ago, and to every single person who donated to it. It raised a brilliant £585 and every single penny will go directly into the charities funds helping us continue being operational. And all the money will be used in the memory of the young boy who was sadly lost.

Thank you for everyone's continued support, and also for the kind words and messages of support we've recieved since that night. We couldn't do what we do without you all.
