Providence Chapel Charlwood Surrey UK A beautiful historic Grade II* Chapel (formerly a barracks) dating from 1800. Available for private hire. Visit by appointment or Heritage open days.

Providence Chapel was originally part of Horsham barracks being built in 1797. After the Battle of Waterloo it was moved to Charlwood and turned into a non-conformist chapel. When it became disused in 2012 it was purchased by the newly formed Providence Chapel Charlwood Trust. It is a Grade II* listed building and currently on English Heritage 'buildings at risk' register. The Trust has now received support from the Heritage Lottery Fund and other benefactors to enable a full renovation which will commence late 2017 and complete mid 2018. Following renovation the Chapel will be available for community use including use by Charlwood Village Primary School as well as being open to the public on regular occasions. Details will be available on the Chapel website which will shortly be launched.

Thankyou to everyone who came to support the Providence Chapel at the village Skittles Tournament yesterday.
On what turned out to be a lovely sunny day.
We had 12 teams of all ages and capabilities! Howard kept the scores and everything running smoothly out front, (Thankyou H) whilst the bar and BBQ were kept busy all afternoon too, Thankyou ladies.
There was plenty of competitive banter and fierce determination, but this years winners (and also of 2024!) were ‘Whiska’s Whackers ’- well done everybody 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
The skittles tournament was initially Laurence Page’s idea a few years ago and it is he who organises the er****on of the marquees , setting of the alleys to bowl as well as taking it all down again afterwards so a big Thankyou to him and his team

Thank you everyone who came to support the Providence Chapel and ‘TOUCHWOOD’ at their gig on Saturday night.
We were entertained with great tunes from a bygone era and there was plenty of reminiscing smiles, singing along and foot tapping being done whilst sipping cold drinks in the evening sunshine.
Around £300.00 was raised that will go towards the upkeep of the chapel.

To all the dog walkers who pass by the providence chapel….
A HUGE THANKYOU
to you all for either not allowing your dog to foul the grass verge in front of the chapel or for picking it up! Our groundsman has been able to do his job as he should ❤️
