Holytown Gala Day 2023

Holytown Gala Day 2023 Holytown Gala Day 2023

12/12/2023

The Gala Day Committee is looking for volunteers to continue the Gala Day to be part of Holytown. As it stands just now we are not in a position to have the Gala Day next year due to other commitments from the team.
It may be that we go with every 2 years until we are in a more secure position with members. It took a long time and a lot of work to get where we were last year. It was a great day and showed a great sense of community and it would be a shame for it to be lost again. Please get in touch if you would like to help.

Thank you so much to Charlene Stevenson for taking these fantastic photos on Saturday 🥳

Well Holytown! What can we say other than Thank you! What an amazing day you made it for the Gala Day! The support was unbelievable! We have a long list of thank yous because if it wasn’t for the support of everyone it wouldn’t have been the success it was. So here goes,
⭐️The Liam Scott Foundation, their donation was instrumental in making the Gala Day the success it was and we couldn’t have done it without that. Pauline Mason Scott and Wullie lost their 18 year old Son in a tragic accident in the waterfalls at Lanark. Liam was a brilliant footballer and the Liam Scott Foundation raise awarness for water safety and continuously put back into the community in Liams name. Being their on the day was a big ask as its coming up to Liams anniversary, and an extremely hard time for everyone, so Thank you.
⭐️Grant Blades and GC Events we couldn’t have done it without you. The boucy Castles, funfair rides, sound system and stage kept the kids busy all day.
⭐️ Susan Jelly, without Susans fundraising the Gala Day wouldn’t have been the success it was.
⭐️Councillor Jim Reddin. He was with us from day 1 and kept us right with all the red tape we had to climb through and helped us make connections within the community.
⭐️Thank you to Holytown Primary School and Christ the King Parent Council/Parent Association - Holytown, the floats were amazing and we understand how much work went into them, on your already busy schedule.
⭐️To Daisy, our Gala Queen and Ali our Champion, thank you! You were both brilliant and thoroughly deserved you place in the day.
⭐️ Thank you to The White House Bar Holytown, for continuous fundraising and for raising awareness of the day.
⭐️The Crown Bar, for their fundraising and support, it means a lot.
⭐️The General Motors. When the committee needed a place to meet, they allowed us use of a room without charge. It is wasnt for that then the Gala Day wouldn’t have been what it was!
⭐️The support from the community! Being there on the day and for all the donations into the money tubs in all the shops, and pubs. We hope you can see where the money went and how we used it to make it a brilliant day for all the kids.
⭐️Print,Design & Sign for the banners, posters and stickers.
⭐️ Charlene Stevenston for taking photos.
⭐️Bag That Dress, for sorting Daisy out with her dress and accessories.
⭐️Touch of Elegance for doing Daisy’s hair on the day
⭐️Slaters, for the voucher which sorted Ali out with his suit.
⭐️ Just ask Debbie Denise Glen. Who provided Daisy and Ali’s sashes.
⭐️ Claire Crothers for the balloons
⭐️ Holytown Colts 2009, Mark and his team of 2009 boys were brilliant and to Lyle Torrens for being in goals too! You were all brilliant!
⭐️So Sally for their music all day! You were brilliant and went above and beyond!
⭐️Noel Quinn, for playing for us on the day. You were brilliant and kept everyone entertained.
⭐️Acro Flight for talking part in the parade and performing.
⭐️New Generation Dance for taking part in the parade and performing on the day.
⭐️Tesco, and Kylie the Community Champion. She sorted us out with water and fresh fruit stall.
⭐️ Danielle Nugent for face painting. She worked tirelessly all day!
⭐️All the volunteers on the day! The Gala Day just couldn’t have ran without them! A simple thank you doesn’t seem enough!
⭐️John Patrick Blair and his team for the trucks for the floats, J was brilliant on the day!
⭐️Kirsty Banks, thank you for helping. It means alot.
⭐️Chucky Murray and team for putting up the bunting.
⭐️Lynn Porter, Sharon and Levi for keeping the drinks flowing!
⭐️ We extended a heartfelt thank you to everyone, if we have forgotten anyone then please know this is for you. We really couldn’t have done it without everyone’s support.

There was a few little hiccups on the day which we can learn from but overall we think it was a successful day🥳

THANK YOU HOLYTOWN!

The Gala Day in under 2 weeks away!! Can you believe it🥳. The committee hope everyone is as excited as we are😆. Can we just offer a gentle reminder to leave your cars and vehicles at home. There will be no parking available at the venue however we also aim to keep the surrounding streets as clear as possible from cars. We hope you can understand.

The parade will leave Holytown Monument at 10am on Saturday 17th June. Remember all kids and adults are welcome to dress up and walk in the parade too.

Once we get to the venue the crowning ceremony will begin.

Lots of fun to be had on the day.
We hope you’re all looking forward to it Holytown 🥳☀️🎤🎼🏰🎠.
