Today Daniel had the privilege of attending the BAFE Parliamentary Reception at the House of Commons, marking the launch of the BAFE Fire Risk Assessor Competency Scheme.

Sponsored by Bob Blackman CBE MP, the event brought together fire safety professionals, industry leaders and parliamentarians to celebrate an important step forward in raising competence, professionalism and public confidence in fire risk assessment.

As a BAFE SP205 certified Fire Risk Assessment company, we’re proud to support initiatives that continue to raise standards across the industry. It was a great opportunity to discuss the future of fire safety, share ideas with fellow professionals, and reinforce the value of independent third-party certification.

A big thank you to BAFE Holdings for organising such a worthwhile event.

It was also nice to finish the day with a walk back to London Euston, taking in some of the city’s landmarks and making the most of the sunshine before heading home.

Yesterday we hosted our annual Golf Day at Holyhead Golf Club in aid of Hope House & Tŷ Gobaith, and what a fantastic day it was! The weather stayed on our side, making for perfect golfing conditions throughout the event ☀️⛳️

We are delighted to announce that a total of £964 was raised on the day, which we have proudly topped up to £1,000. We know this donation will make a real difference and support a truly worthwhile cause.

A huge thank you to everyone who took part, sponsored, donated, and supported the event. Your generosity and support helped make the day such a success.

Special thanks go to all the staff at the golf club for ensuring everything ran smoothly, including Bry & Steve in the pro shop, the greenkeeping team, caterers, and bar staff. We would also like to thank our own team who helped organise and set up the day.

Finally, congratulations to our overall winners, who posted a fantastic score, along with all of the other prize winners on the day 🏆

Thank you once again to everyone involved. We are already looking forward to next year’s event! 🔥🧯

Mon Fire Golf Day, taking place on Saturday 6th June, is being held in aid of Hope House Tŷ Gobaith Children's Hospices, helping to raise vital funds for the children and families they support.

🚨 Major step forward for fire safety in Wales

This week, the Welsh Parliament – Senedd Cymru – passed the Building Safety (Wales) Bill, introducing one of the most significant changes to building and fire safety legislation in Wales in recent years.

The new law establishes a comprehensive building safety regime for multi-occupied residential buildings across Wales, regardless of building height or tenure. It aims to strengthen the way fire and structural risks are managed while buildings are occupied. (Inside Housing)

Key principles behind the legislation include:

🔥 Safety – Fire risk assessments must be carried out by competent persons, with criminal penalties for those who fail to comply.
🏢 Accountability – Clear legal responsibilities for those managing buildings, ending confusion about who is responsible for safety risks.

Great catching up with Dan Chapman from Kentec Electronics today.

We had a really productive discussion around all things fire alarm sales, as well as the growing importance of lockdown systems as organisations prepare for the implementation of Martyn’s Law.

It’s clear that the industry is evolving, and integrating life safety systems with security considerations is becoming increasingly important. The conversation highlighted how fire detection, alarm systems, and lockdown capabilities will need to work together to support safer buildings and more robust emergency procedures.

Always good to exchange insights and stay ahead of the changes shaping our sector.
