Heath Flower Festival 2026 🌸

Join us at All Saints Church, Heath for this year’s Flower Festival taking place 18 – 25 July 2026.

Enjoy a wonderful celebration themed around popular songs from the 50s, 60s and 70s – brought to life through beautiful floral displays.

Everyone is welcome – why not pop along and enjoy a lovely day out in the community?

Speed indicator device installed on Mansfield Road, Heath.

The device has been positioned to help encourage drivers to be more aware of their speed when travelling through the village, with the aim of improving road safety for residents, pedestrians, and all road users.

The Parish Council hopes this initiative will have a positive impact in reducing speeding traffic through Heath and demonstrates its ongoing commitment to responding to community concerns and delivering practical improvements where possible.

The Parish Council would like to advise residents that the next Parish Meeting will be held on Tuesday, 14 April at 7:00pm at St Albans Parish Centre, Holmewood.

Residents are warmly encouraged to attend, as key items for discussion will include the North East Derbyshire District Council proposed Local Plan, planning application 24/00473/MFL (Land East of Central Street, Holmewood), and The Great Grid Upgrade.

Your views are important to us, and we strongly encourage you to attend and have your say on these significant matters affecting the community.

Looking for something fun for the kids this Easter?

Come along to our Easter Holiday Club for a couple of hours of crafts, fun and refreshments.

North East Derbyshire District Council has launched a consultation on a new Local Plan.

The Local Plan is an important document that helps shape how the district develops in the years ahead – including housing, employment land, infrastructure and protecting local areas.

This upcoming consultation will give residents, businesses and community groups the opportunity to share their views before the next stages of the Local Plan move forward.

We’re encouraging residents of Heath and Holmewood to take a look and get involved.

The Parish Council is disappointed to report an incident of anti-social behaviour and vandalism which occurred on Thursday 19th February 2026 at approximately 6:30pm.

A parish council bus shelter on Heath Road, opposite the local shops, was deliberately damaged when a small group of individuals were captured on CCTV smashing a glass panel. The cost to replace the damaged panel is estimated to be approximately £500, which ultimately falls to local taxpayers.

The incident has been reported to Derbyshire Police and is currently under investigation.

This behaviour is particularly disappointing given the Parish Council’s continued investment in facilities for young people and the wider community. In recent months, the Council has invested around £60,000 refurbishing the multi-use games area, including resurfacing, installing new lighting, and improving the surrounding area. Plans were also in place to replace the teen shelter.

The Parish Council is committed to improving local facilities and asks that residents support us in looking after and respecting these shared community assets.

A huge thank you to everyone who took part in the litter-picking event on 7 February, organised by the Rapid Relief Team (RRT) in conjunction with the Parish Council, Chesterfield Litter Pickers, Friends of the Five Pits Trail, and Farmery Services.

Thanks to the fantastic turnout and hard work from all involved, three trailer loads of rubbish were collected. The area already looks so much better, making a real difference to the parish.

Your time, effort, and community spirit are very much appreciated, thank you for helping to keep our parish clean and cared for.
