Whitbourne to become a We Don’t Buy Crime protected area thanks to success of the crime prevention campaign

Sergeant Marvin Choudhury said: ''As part of our We Don’t Buy Crime initiative, which is our response to acquisitive crime and associated harm, we have supplied a number of residents in Whitbourne, in Herefordshire with SmartWater kits thanks to the funding by the council and the Police and Crime Commissioner, John Campion; who supplies 25 per cent of the funds.''

As well as Crime Prevention advice, a number of people signed up to the West Mercia Police Neighbourhood Matters crime alert online system. The We Don’t Buy Crime team were out in Abbey Field in Redditch yesterday with Cllrs Julian Grubb, Emma Marshall, PCSO's Tom Poole and Rafaquat Hussain delivering Smartwater kits.

Yesterday myself Councillor Julian Grubb Redditch Police - Safer Neighbourhood Teams and We Don't Buy Crime delivered Smart Water Kits to residents in Millwood Meadows (opposite Abbey Stadium).

Smart Water is a crime prevention initiative where residents can mark all of their valuables with an invisible watermark. This has been proven to reduce the chances of thefts and robberies significantly in areas where it's rolled out.

As a County Councillor I have access to divisional funding which can be used on projects which benefit the community. This has allowed me to fund the purchase of these kits along with John Campion 4 West Mercia Police & Crime Commissioner
