🚫 – and already another fly-tip

We’re not even a week into our fly-tipping awareness campaign and an incident has occurred on Stapleton Lane, Stoke Golding.

Cllr Lynda Hodgkins, Executive Member for Street Scene Services, visited the site and spoke with staff as they sorted through the waste before it gets removed.

It’s early days, but evidence has already been found and investigations are now underway — with the hope that those responsible will be identified and fined.

If you need to get rid of rubbish, there are plenty of responsible options:
✅ Use a licensed waste carrier (always check they are registered – if not, you could be fined)
✅ Arrange a bulky waste collection
✅ Use our Big Bin service
✅ Sell or donate unwanted items
✅ Take waste to your local recycling centre

There are no excuses for fly-tipping. Let’s keep our communities clean. 💚

If you know anything about this fly-tip please contact our Street Scene Services team on 01455 238141 or email [email protected]

🚨 Safety Warning – Please Share 🚨

We’ve been made aware that young people are entering and swimming in Hinckley Wharf. With hot weather on the way, we want to remind everyone that this is extremely dangerous.

Open water can be unpredictable, with hidden hazards, currents and cold temperatures that can quickly put lives at risk.

Tragically, in recent weeks there have been reports across the country of young people losing their lives while swimming in unsupervised open water — and we do not want this to happen here.

👉 Please help raise awareness
👉 Talk to young people about the risks
👉 Stay safe and avoid entering the Wharf and other unsupervised water

Let’s look out for one another and enjoy the warmer weather responsibly. 💛

🌿 Clean Air Day – 18 June 🌿

This , Cllr Martin Cartwright, Executive Member for Environment & Climate Change, is supporting the campaign as a Clean Air Champion, helping to raise awareness of the impact air pollution has on our communities.

Improving air quality is part of our Climate Change Strategy, including our commitment to use Environmental Protection and Clean Air Act powers to reduce pollution across the borough.

Air pollution affects everyone’s health and is linked to a range of serious conditions, from childhood asthma to heart and lung disease later in life.

By supporting Clean Air Day, we’re helping to start important conversations and encourage simple changes that can make a big difference to the air we all breathe.
