We were pleased to be invited to attend last night's Stand-Up to Climate Chaos event at Wycombe Arts Centre by Wycombe Friends of the Earth.

Thank you to those who came to speak with our volunteers about the Labour Government's achievements and plans.

Last week, the Labour government committed to an ambitious, legally binding target to cut carbon emissions by 87% by 2040, based on 1990 levels. Announced by Energy Secretary Ed Miliband, this goal serves as the "seventh carbon budget" for the 2038–2042 period and keeps the country on track to achieve net zero by 2050.

We all owe so much to all who served to free Europe from tyranny. We must never forget them.

82 years ago, on the beaches of Normandy, brave British and Allied forces changed the course of history forever.

They fought not for themselves, but for the freedom of generations to come.

One of those servicemen is Henry Rice, who I recently had the privilege of meeting in 10 Downing Street.

During the war, Henry served as a signalman on HMS Eastway, a ship used to ferry men and supply equipment to the beaches during the Normandy campaign.

Henry witnessed first-hand the horrors of the invasion.

Today, we honour Henry and all those who served on D-Day.

Their bravery changed history. Their sacrifice secured our freedom.

We will never forget them.
