We're proud to share a bit more about the incredible impact our trustees have at NDAS 💜

They play a vital role in guiding and supporting the organisation, all on a voluntary basis, and we're so grateful for the time, expertise and dedication they bring.

It's been great to welcome Pam Perry to our Board of Trustees recently. She shared why getting involved with NDAS matters to her:

“It is vital that organisations such as NDAS exist as an independent, specialist and trusted provider of high-quality services, ensuring survivors and their families can access the support and advocacy they need.

After a 33-year career in local government, I wanted to use my skills and experience to continue supporting people and making a difference in local communities.

I am proud to have recently joined the NDAS Board as a trustee and hope I can help deliver these much-needed services to the residents of Northumberland.”

A huge thank you to Pam and all of our trustees for the difference they make every day.

We're proud to have signed the North East Anti-Racism Coalition pledge to Become the Bridge 🧡

Become The Bridge focuses specifically on racism, as it is one of the most challenging and avoided areas within Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) work.

This means we’re making a clear commitment to look at what we do, learn more about racism, and take practical steps to challenge it – both in our organisation and in the communities we support.

We know this is ongoing work, and we’re proud to be part of a growing network across the North East working towards the same goal.

Our volunteers give so much to NDAS - we simply couldn’t do what we do without them 💜

One of our volunteers shared why she chose to get involved, and we’re so grateful for the passion and experience she brings.

Helen helps out at our group support programmes, including The Freedom Programme. You can find out more about this on our website.

[Image Description: blue colourful graphic featuring feedback from an NDAS volunteer:

“I have worked for over 20 years supporting victim-survivors of domestic abuse, and after retiring I felt I wanted to continue to use my skills. I chose to volunteer with the group programme because it is something I am very passionate about.

I firmly believe it helps women understand the complexities of domestic abuse, its impact, and supports them to heal, move forward, and hopefully live a life free from abuse.”]
