Hexham Abbey is delighted to host Threads Through Revelation, a stunning exhibition by acclaimed British textile artist Jacqui Parkinson from 13 October to 22 November.

Fourteen spectacular textile panels bring the Book of Revelation vividly to life, weaving together colour, texture and symbolism to explore themes of good and evil, conflict and hope, judgement and redemption, culminating in the vision of a new heaven and a new earth.

Many visitors say the exhibition has transformed their understanding of Revelation. Come and experience its extraordinary story for yourself.

Schools are warmly invited to visit. To arrange a visit, please contact Cath Newson at [email protected].

Last Sunday, members of the Abbey Choir, both past and present, gathered for Choral Evensong to mark the end of Michael Haynes' final choir term as Director of Music.

The evening was a fitting way to mark 22 years of service to the Abbey, finishing with a memorable rendition of the hymn "How shall I sing that majesty". A big thank you to everyone who attended the service, both in the choir and the congregation, or who have showed their support for Michael through other means.

The service is available to catch up on via the Abbey's YouTube Channel, should you wish to: https://www.youtube.com/live/tVNXWk-oOgE?si=4id7NuBUAssDStFj

You may have seen in the Abbey we are having a new sloping floor placed into our north nave aisle. Thanks to a grant, this will drastically improve accessibility in the abbey in the long term!
In the short term, the Abbey looks a little like this for a few weeks!
