🌼 What a view to end the week! 🌼

The wildflowers at Grange Paddocks are putting on a beautiful display right now, creating a gorgeous splash of colour.

There are several markets that happen across East Herts on a weekly basis, but some only happen once a month - like the Hertford Farmers' Market happening TOMORROW, on Saturday, 13 June! 💚

Each market offers a mix of local products, with fresh food, fish, bread, clothes and household products being sold 🐝

Don't forget to check out all the different markets happening each week in the district:

Saturday, 13 June - Hertford Farmers' Market
Saturday, 13 June- Hertford Retail Market
Saturday, 13 June - Bishop's Stortford Chartered Market
Monday, 15 June- Buntingford Chartered Market
Tuesday, 16 June - Ware Retail Market
Thursday, 18 June - Bishop's Stortford Chartered Market

For a limited time we are inviting traders to set up a stall at Hertford Farmers' Market without charge, which they can trade from at four Hertford Farmers' Market events (once a month, for four months) - those interested in taking up a trial or stall at our markets should email [email protected] for more information 📧

Please note, East Herts Council will handle any enquiries relating to markets in Hertford and Ware, whilst any enquiries about markets in Bishop's Stortford and Buntingford should be directed to the relevant town councils.

⚽ It’s all kicking-off this summer! ⚽ So with the World Cup just about to start, we’re asking the most important question… ‘Kane’ you recycle it?? 🤔♻️
(Yes you can!)

Score a recycling win at tonight’s opening match between Mexico 🇲🇽 and South Africa 🇿🇦 and get your half-time snack packaging in the right bins…

🌮 Get your taco boxes into the blue-lidded cardboard and paper bin
🐂 Your empty biltong packets (or any crisp packets too) into the black-lidded mixed recycling bin
🥑 And, for the hat-trick, any left-over guacamole or soggy nachos can go into your food waste bin.

Don’t let contamination leave your bin stuck on the subs bench – check the website or download the council app to check what goes in what bin.

You can help us shape the future of the district by getting involved in our Scoping Consultation for the new East Herts Local Plan. The Scoping Consultation is live now, and we invite you to share your views with us.

The new Local Plan will set out how East Herts will grow while protecting and enhancing the district’s character, and this is your opportunity to tell us what the Local Plan should look like.

Key issues to be addressed in the Local Plan include housing, employment, infrastructure, the natural and historic environment, and the health and wellbeing of local communities.

Take part in the Scoping Consultation and let us know your thoughts before the deadline on Friday, 10 July. Where possible, we recommend using a laptop or desktop computer to complete the consultation rather than a mobile:

We've installed a new skate ramp in Hartham Common! 🛹

This ramp has been installed in response to community feedback, which was gathered last summer to see how we could improve the popular skatepark area in Hartham 💚

We're grateful to everyone who offered us their feedback, as well as to King Ramps who helped us install the equipment 🌞

This addition to the skate equipment in Hartham Common was paid for by Section 106 Funding, which is used to support the provision of services and infrastructure, including highways, recreational facilities, education, health and affordable housing.

We will shortly be launching the first stage of engagement on our new Local Plan, with a Scoping Consultation running from 11 June to 10 July 2026.

This is your chance to help shape what the Local Plan should include - from key challenges and opportunities to the vision for the district and how we plan for sustainable growth.

Whether you live, work or run a business in East Herts, your views will help influence the direction of the Local Plan.

Have your say on the future of policing 👇

As your Police and Crime Commissioner for Hertfordshire, it’s important to me that your voice is heard before any changes are made to your local police service.

The Government is proposing to merge police forces, which could mean that your local police force covers a much wider area than Hertfordshire, including neighbouring counties.

The national review isn’t asking the public their views – so I am.

Please take a few minutes to complete my short survey and share your views: https://tinyurl.com/3h5wf63k
