Last night, our crews, prevention team and volunteers attended a barn meet at a farm in Colliers End to engage with local farmers and rural residents about wildfire safety and arson prevention.

Organised by Hertfordshire Police as part of Rural Crime Action Week, the event gave us an opportunity to thank farmers and residents for their support during a busy summer of open land and wildfire incidents, while sharing practical advice on reducing the risk of fires and deliberate fire setting in rural areas.

🔥 FireStoppers enables people to anonymously report information about deliberate fire setting and arson, helping to protect our communities and countryside - 📞 0800 169 5558 or find out more online at firestoppersreport.co.uk
❤️ Thank you to everyone who attended Herts Police NFU - National Farmers' Union

Crews from Welwyn Garden City were recently deployed to Hampshire to support with the New Forest wildfires using our High Volume Pump.

The High Volume Pump is a versatile and highly effective piece of equipment capable of delivering large volumes of water over significant distances, making it suitable for a wide range of operational incidents.

Even while supporting multi-agency incidents in Derbyshire, Hampshire and Suffolk, crews across Hertfordshire continued to deliver their core responsibilities, maintaining excellent service to our communities.

Fire Control received 60 calls in just 90 minutes, with crews attending more than 20 incidents to help keep people safe.
🌧️ If you encounter floodwater, don't take the risk. Never drive through it and always follow emergency service advice.

CANCELLED - Hitchin Fire Station Open Day

Unfortunately this Sunday's Fire Station Open Day has had to be cancelled. This is due to the anticipated weather conditions with thundery rain forecast, plus a potential increase in operational flooding related incidents.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused.

A restaurant owner who pleaded guilty to fire safety offences following an investigation by Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service's Business Fire Safety Team, has received a 14-month custodial sentence, suspended for 2 years.
Moynul Abedin converted upper floor space in the restaurant without planning or building control. The converted space provided sleeping areas for short term guests, despite the fire service specifically prohibiting this use due to the risk to life.
