Bedfordshire & Hertfordshire Army Cadet Force

Bedfordshire & Hertfordshire Army Cadet Force The Army Cadet Force (ACF) offers a variety a training. This goes from Ceremonial Drill to Rock Climbing.

The Army Cadets in Bedfordshire & Hertfordshire provide exciting and challenging, military themed and adventurous training to young people in 40 towns and villages throughout both counties. The variety is broad and the content challenging, this is why the ACF is one of the largest youth movements today. The majority of our training is focused around the Army Proficiency Syllabus (APC Syllabus). Th

is syllabus is compiled of various military and non-military subjects, each then divided into up to 6 levels. These levels are known as star levels and based on the level of experience and achievement the cadet has already reached, ranging from Basic Cadet to Master Cadet. For Parade nights and times please go to the website and search for the Detachment concerned

Duke of Edinburgh's Awards

Participants of the Duke of Edinburgh's Awards are known for their expeditions, but it's not all about walks in the countryside. As well as expeditions, they must also complete three other sections, Skills, Physical and Volunteering. It is wonderful to reveal that members of Bedfordshire & Hertfordshire Army Cadets ( Cadets and Adult Volunteers to the age of 24) have dedicated 2340 hours in one year to volunteering within the local community. Well done to everyone who has taken part, and also the Adult Volunteers who guide and support the participants.

82nd Anniversary of D-Day

Today marks the 82nd Anniversary of the D-Day landings. The largest amphibious assault in history, it was the start of the liberation of occupied Europe. British forces, with the United States, Canada and other Allied forces, descended on multiple beaches. In the face of uncertainty, fear, and not knowing what lay ahead, these brave soldiers faced the enemy; sadly, the Normandy landings would see approx 11,000 British troops lose their lives. Today, we honour their sacrifice; without them, the outcome of World War Two may not be as it is today.

Today, as we see various conflicts across the world, we hope that the lessons of history are not forgotten, and that one day, peace will triumph and future generations will not suffer as those before.

We will remember them
🇬🇧Lest We Forget🇬🇧
