Great talk by Clive from Hertford Swift Group at All Saints' Church, Hertford this afternoon.

Good to see the progress that has been made in making boxes locally from Baz John's making over 400 boxes in his shed, to taking up the baton and then needing the additional boxes from Bishops's Stortford Men's Shed and Hertford Men Shed. This shows the success and reach of the various swift local swift groups including Ware Swifts & House Martins and Sawbridgeworth Swifts

Increases of nesting pairs of swifts occupying the boxes and bricks installed in Hertford shows that are holding their own with some optimism that there will be some recovery but other projects show this can take a couple of decades to significantly increase numbers. Slow and steady wins the race

Good to meet a number of residents today at the Hertford Town Council stall today.

Issues for both East Herts Council and also Hertfordshire County Council were raised as well as town issues. All will be passed onto relevant local councillors on the relevant councils.

The at Hertford Town Council, Tourist Information* raises money for Against Breast Cancer by both reusing lightly used bras and recycling those that are beyond their sell by date.

It takes only a minute to drop off any extra bras you might have whether they are the wrong size, not quite the right shape for you or no longer quite the ticket.

Help the planet and a great charity. What's not to like? 😀
