1063 Herne Bay Squadron, RAF Air Cadets This is the official public page of 1063 (Herne Bay) Squadron Air Training Corps

The RAF Air Cadets if a youth organisation that offers a wide variety of training and activities to people between the ages of 12* and 17. Our activities include flying, gliding and the Duke of Edinburgh Awards as well as training that is useful for any walk of life in the future. ✈️ 1063 is back in the swing of things! ✈️

Tonight we kicked off with an interflight competition, putting teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving to the test 💡

Cadets were challenged to design and build a bomber aircraft capable of accurately dropping a bomb onto a specific target 🎯💣 — plenty of innovation, trial and error, and competitive spirit on display!

🎄 Merry Christmas from 1063 Squadron 🎄

What a year it’s been! We’ve run an event every single month — from RAF Careers visits and trips to Hendon, to proudly taking part in the Memorial Parade.

We’re especially proud to have grown the squadron from 15 cadets to 38 and we’re not stopping there!!!

Next year brings even more growth, with new cadets and staff, open evenings, exciting changes, and plenty of new adventures ahead.

Thank you to everyone who has supported 1063 throughout the year.

We wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year — here’s to an even bigger and better year ahead! 🎉🎅

🎉 Quiz Night Success! 🎉

On Saturday, 1063 hosted a fantastic Quiz Night to raise funds for our cadets — and thanks to the hard work of our amazing Civilian Committee, it was a huge success!

💷 An incredible £724 was raised to support our cadets!

A huge thank you to Sally and Malcolm for creating and delivering an excellent quiz and keeping everyone entertained throughout the evening. 🎤

Remembrance Parade 2025

Today, 1063 came together to honour and remember the fallen with the community of Herne Bay.

Congratulations to our band, performing in public for the very first time – you sounded amazing filling the streets with song.

1063 also had cadets that joined us only 6 weeks ago who joined us with pride and respect marching alongside us.

Thank you to everyone who took part and supported this meaningful day. Your dedication keeps the spirit of remembrance alive. 🕊️
