🔵 Meet David Davies – Conservative Candidate for Dinedor Hill in the 2027 Local Elections
We are delighted to announce that Cllr David Davies has been selected as our Conservative candidate for Dinedor Hill in the 2027 Herefordshire Council elections.
David is a dedicated local councillor with a background in engineering, the military and public service. As both a parish and county councillor, he has worked tirelessly for local residents, tackling issues such as potholes, road safety, parking, protecting green spaces and supporting communities during challenging times, including the Hoarwithy landslip.
David also serves on the Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Authority and is Chair of Governors at Little Dewchurch CofE Primary School, demonstrating his long-standing commitment to serving our local community.
With a proven record of listening to residents and delivering practical results, David is committed to making Dinedor Hill an even better place to live, work and raise a family.
Please join us in wishing David every success as we look ahead to the 2027 local elections.

The River Wye is one of our area's greatest natural assets, and protecting it for future generations must remain a shared priority.
We're pleased to see local authorities and environmental partners from both sides of the border coming together behind the new Charter for the River Wye, working towards the long-term recovery of this iconic river.

In this fascinating conversation, Cllr Elissa Swinglehurst discusses the launch of the Charter of the Rights of the River Wye — a unique first-of-its-kind initiative in the UK bringing together councils, organisations and environmental partners across counties and borders to recognise and protect the river’s intrinsic rights. Elissa explains how years of cooperation and shared commitment have helped make this groundbreaking project possible, and why giving the River Wye a voice in decision-making could help shape its future for generations to come.

We continue our series of videos highlighting the work of our councillors across Herefordshire.
In this latest interview, Cllr Elissa Swinglehurst talks about some of the key issues affecting residents in Llangarron Ward, including road resurfacing, potholes, road safety, speeding traffic and plans for improved local transport infrastructure. Elissa also discusses the successful resurfacing work between Llangrove and Whitchurch and her ongoing work with local parishes to improve safety and connectivity across the ward.
Thank you to Elissa for taking the time to speak with us on such a beautiful day in South Herefordshire.
