Not sheep related but….

Next month, alongside Craswall YFC, Ellie is running the Hereford 10K in aid of St Michael’s Hospice.

Unfortunately, training has confirmed that she is not a born athlete and that my market breakfast eating skills are better than her running skills 😂

She is running in memory of Donna Powell, a huge supporter of Craswall YFC, and for her Gran, Stella, both of which experienced the incredible, first class care the hospice provides last year.

St Michael’s Hospice does amazing work supporting families when they need it most, so any donations would be hugely appreciated 🫶

Great to be back in the show ring at the Welsh Winter Fair after we missed last years show.

Exhibiting three home-bred pairs, all of them picked up third prize in their strong classes.

Super chuffed, especially as it was our first time showing North Country Cheviots and Welsh Mules.

⭐️ Suffolk cross Torddu sold for 370ppk
⭐️ Badger Mules sold for 411ppk to a young breeder
⭐️NCC kept on for breeding

💥Both Torddu yearling rams and ewes for sale. Unfortunately, we were unable to take our sheep to the Official Breed Sale this year, as we did not vaccinate for Bluetongue. Viewing at home welcome💥

Pleased with our first offering of pedigree registered Cheviot Park rams, which are looking for new homes 🏡

The three yearlings are out of our foundation ewes from the Brefi flock and by a Synton ram, which is sired by Allanshaws Special Blend.

Very reasonably priced, not pushed... desert grazed ☀️🍀

Bluetongue scuppered our sale plans, the rams are not currently vaccinated but can be💉

There will be plenty of choice for ram buyers in England and Wales this summer at the NSA Ram Sales.

Vendors have responded to challenges due to bluetongue restrictions by entering a range of top quality rams for sale at the Brecon sale on Monday 4th August and at Hereford on Tuesday 5th August.

The organisers have arranged the second sale at Hereford to help businesses cope with the current BTV regulations that currently prevent the movement of sheep from England to Wales unless a pre-movement test is completed. The upcoming NSA Wales & Border Sales will help to save expense and time by accommodating sheep farmers on both sides of the border.

In to dry before The Official Show & Sale of Badger Face Welsh Mountain Sheep tomorrow 🌧️🔨

Two yearling rams, lots 80 (left) and 81 (right), both of which are sired by our home-bred ram who was top price at the 2020 society sale.

Followed by our three yearling ewes, lot 197, sired by the same ram and lots 198 and 199, sired by a Metro ram.
