Hoarwithy – Withy Cottage update
We’re pleased to confirm that the C1261 in Hoarwithy at Withy Cottage has now reopened.
The road had been closed due to a landslip and concerns about the stability of a structure at the site. The closure was necessary to ensure the safety of all highway users while specialist assessments and remedial works were carried out.
Following technical surveys and enforcement action, the most immediate risks have now been addressed. Further works were required to make the remaining structure safe and prevent any material falling onto the highway.
These works have now been completed, allowing the road to safely reopen.
We would like to thank residents, businesses, and road users for their patience and understanding during this period of disruption. We also want to thank our partners and contractors for their work in helping to secure a safe resolution as quickly as possible.
The Council’s priority throughout has been public safety, and we appreciate the community’s support while this work was carried out.
