🎵 Taking in the Tradition in Shrewsbury! 🎵

This weekend, our cadets from Bugle Platoon - Inkerman Coy, had the privilege of attending the annual Light Infantry and Rifles Reunion! 🇬🇧✨

They attended to soak up the incredible atmosphere, watch the spectacular Sounding Retreat, and learn from the veterans who carried the traditions before them. It was a fantastic opportunity for them to experience the history and camaraderie of the Light Infantry and Rifles family firsthand.

They represented the Coy brilliantly with excellent turnout and respect, and left feeling incredibly inspired.

Congratulations to the following CFAVs from Alamein Sqn who take up appointments as Detachment Commanders in Hereford & Worcester ACF.

Lt Andy Nicholls takes on Bromsgrove Troop after serving as DC at Redditch Troop. Sgt Tom Smith joined the Army Cadet Force after a career in the Royal Corps of Signals, and will command Redditch Troop with immediate effect. We wish both CFAVs well as they take these next steps, and thank them for all they do for our cadets.

This weekend cadets from across Alamein Sqn, Gheluvelt Bty, and Inkerman Coy will be heading to our County Skill-at-Arms Meet. It's their opportunity to put everything they've learned on the range to the test in a brilliant shooting competition. Good luck everyone!

Shooting is a skill. Cadets value the discipline and composure it gives them. CFAVs get a huge reward from seeing them become confident on the range.

📍 Gheluvelt Bty | Passes & Progress 📈

It’s been a busy few weeks at Malvern Troop, and with Fieldcraft & Tactics teaching for July Camp and Annual Camp in full swing, there’s barely been a minute to take a breath.

This month, senior cadets have also been collecting their team t-shirts following their time on Exercise Ubique Hunter with the Royal Artillery and, just this evening, a number of cadets passed Basic CIS while a further seven individuals collected their Youth First Aid certificates and badges.

Well done to all our cadets on their hard work and progress — you are awesome!

Armed Forces Day isn’t far away. From the week commencing 22 June, right up to Armed Forces Day itself on Saturday 27 June, events across the nation will be taking place in thanks for the service given by sailors, soldiers, and Royal Air Force personnel past and present.

You’ll see some of our Detachments out on the ground on the day in uniform lending their voice to these events!

Even if your Cadet Detachment isn’t attending a formal event, there are plenty of ways you can get involved and show your support!

📣 Calling All Senior Cadets | Free Course! 🆓

If your cadet is aged 16 to 18 and in year 12 or 13 at school or college, ask them about our free Level 2 BTEC in Teamwork & Personal Development in The Community.

Places are available now and participation comes free of charge courtesy of Cadet Vocational College, the national vocational learning programme for cadets across the UK.

Training Sergeant Major WO2 Steph Woods says:

"This is a brilliant opportunity to get an easy win on your CV. The modules are progressive and you can choose much of what you focus on, so the course is tailored to your interests."

Interested cadets should ask their DC to sign them up by contacting WO2 Woods directly. A Zoom call offering further information is available later this month!

🎖️ INKERMAN COY: THE NEXT GENERATION OF LEADERS & ACHIEVERS! 🎖️

To wrap up an incredible round of presentations this past weekend, our Officer Commanding, Major Hatch, recognised the fantastic achievements of our junior NCOs and newest qualified cadets!

First up, a massive congratulations to our newly promoted junior leaders. Stepping into a leadership role takes real commitment, and these cadets have proven they have the skills to guide and inspire others:

4 x newly promoted Corporals 🎖️🎖️
5 x newly promoted Lance Corporals 🎖️

But the celebrations didn't stop there! Major Hatch also presented certificates badges to the cadets who successfully passed their Army Cadet Syllabus (ACS) Basic Training. Passing Basic is the vital first step on the cadet journey, and we are incredibly proud of their hard work, teamwork, and determination.

From our brand-new passes to our rising NCOs, Inkerman Company is in fantastic hands. 🙌

🎖️ INKERMAN COY PROMOTIONS: THE NCO CADRE GROWS! 🎖️

Following on from our Cadet Company Sergeant Major announcement, the celebrations continue as we recognise the next vital tier of senior leadership within Inkerman Coy.

A massive congratulations to our two newly promoted Serjeants!

Reaching the rank of Serjeant is a serious milestone. It requires an exceptional level of dedication, discipline, and a proven ability to manage, train, and mentor junior cadets. These two have stepped up to the plate and earned every bit of their new stripes.

Please join us in giving them a huge congratulations! 👏
