2353 Ystrad Mynach Air Cadet Squadron

As the squadron does annually, we attended Ystrad Mynach Food, Drink & Music Festival at the end of April, then we were in attendance at Bargoed Spring Fair at the beginning of May.

Both were great in their own rights, whilst the settings were different they both brought a great deal of community engagement, giving our cadets the experience of meeting members of the public and growing their overall confidence and self discipline.

Happy Volunteers Week 2026 🎉
In 1983 someone created an illustration of the Squadron Volunteers.
In 2026, we decided to do the same.
Many thanks to Cdt E. Davidson for her amazing drawings of our Cadet Forces Adult Volunteers.
Goes to show that although the years pass as volunteers come and go, our dedication has never waivered with giving young people experiences in Air, Space and Cyber.

Last Weekend Cdt Day earned his Bronze Youth First Aid Badge 👏

From everybody connected to the squadron, we were delighted to celebrate WO Kings recent 66th Birthday, where a delicious 'RAF multiple Aircraft' themed 🎂 was cut and served. We can't wait for your 67th Sir! 🙂

On Saturday, we went to the with our own booth and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) activities to engage with the public!

It was a great turnout overall with the cadets, and a lot of them had some great fun!

With just until 2026 (Sat 9th May), 2353 Ystrad Mynach Air Cadets Squadron will be situated in our RAFAC Gazebo on the corner of Hanbury Road & Cross Street
(Opposite Lucky Strike Amusements) providing: Pre-Cadet/CFAV Registration | Learn More of the RAFAC Journey with our Recruitment Video | x4 STEM Mission Challenge to win an RAF Duck.

In addition, our wonderful Civilian Committee are also supporting the Officer Commanding with this respected local community event, by providing; The chance to win £50, £30 or £10 with our '100 Squares Challenge' draw, at £5 per entry - The Draw will take place approximately 4pm (leave your contact details when purchasing your entries and this covers for if you cannot wait till the draw time, where we will be in touch if you are a winner 🙂).

We are also selling Christmas Cards - get them ahead of time for 2026 for £3 per pack and of course we are always very appreciative of any kind Donations by cash or card at our 'Donation Corner'.

Payment Types: 100 Square Challenge Draw Entries, Christmas Cards and Kind Donations can all be made by Cash, or Card (Donations by Card above £1.00 only)

As an Unregistered 'Excepted' Charity, any and all funds raised are wholly reinvested for increasing our ability to offer the OC and his staff to further develop various aspects of the offerings to our current cohort of Air Cadets.

No.2353 Ystrad Mynach Air Cadets will be in our RAF Air Cadets Gazebo providing a Win a Duck STEM Challenge.
We are recruiting for new cadets aged 12 (Year Eight) - 17 and Adult Volunteers aged 20 to 75+.
