Sun Safety 🌞 ☀️ 🌤
As we move into brighter spring weather, we are already seeing people caught out by stronger UV levels.
A helpful reminder that the sun doesn’t wait for summer - daily SPF is now firmly back on the checklist.
Seek shade between 11am and 3pm, when UV levels are at their highest.
Cover up with clothing, hats and sunglasses.
Protect children, as their skin burns more quickly.
Use SPF 30+ with a minimum 4‑star UVA rating
Act early — don’t wait until skin is already exposed.

⚠️ Meningitis: Please Check Your Child’s Vaccinations 💉

Our Director of Public Health, Professor Tracy Daszkiewicz, is urging parents and carers to make sure children and teenagers are protected against meningitis, following recent tragic cases in Kent 💔

Meningitis can develop very quickly and can be life threatening. Vaccination is the best way to prevent it.

🛡️ Key meningitis protection includes:
• MenB for babies and young children
• Pneumococcal vaccine (can also prevent meningitis)
• MenACWY for Year 9 pupils and young people under 25 starting university

Young children, teenagers and students in shared accommodation are at the highest risk.

👉 Check your child’s vaccination record by contacting your GP or our Vaccination Service: 0300 303 1373
👉 Book any missed doses
👉 Learn the symptoms and seek urgent help if concerned

“Vaccination saves lives,” says Professor Daszkiewicz- please take up your vaccinations.
