This week for drills we were very kindly supported by the wonderful Lucy and Jess from Hawthorn Veterinary Surgeries, who delivered an incredibly informative session on animal first aid.

The evening really helped improve the crew’s understanding of how we can be most effective when assisting not only members of the public, but their furry best friends too.
A huge thank you to Lucy and Jess for giving up their time to support Henfield Fire Station — we really appreciate it! 🚒🐾

This evening, members of the public may notice a number of fire service appliances and personnel at Henfield Football Club.
This is due to a multi-station meeting taking place and there is no cause for concern.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

Big shout out to our former Watch Manager, James Mundy , who is completing a charity walk throughout January in aid of Prostate Cancer UK 🚶‍♂️

We’d encourage anyone who can to sponsor Jim and support this important cause. Every donation helps make a real difference.

The Met Office has issued an Amber Cold Health Alert for our area, in effect until 6 January, as temperatures remain very low.
As many people return to work after the festive break, vehicle safety is more important than ever. Cold weather can quickly expose problems that may not be obvious day to day.
Before every journey, remember your FLOWER checks.

🚗 Fuel – enough for your journey

💡 Lights – headlights, brake lights and indicators

🛢 Oil – check levels when the engine is cold

💧 Water – coolant and screen wash topped up

🔋 Electrics – battery secure and in good condition

🛞 Rubber – tyres, pressure, tread and sidewall checks

A few minutes spent checking your vehicle can help prevent breakdowns, collisions and delays — keeping you and others safe on the road.
Please take extra care in icy conditions, allow more time for journeys, and only travel.

Safe vehicles save lives.

🔥🚒 Chimney Fire Safety Week 🚒🔥
As the nights draw in, don’t let a cosy fire turn into a hazard.
✅ Get your chimney swept
✅ Use the right fuel
✅ Test your alarms
Let’s keep Henfield safe this winter! 🧹🔥

An unswept chimney is a fire risk, and it could also cause carbon monoxide poisoning in the people and pets living in your home. Stay safe during this heating season by booking a chimney sweep

This is your chance to have an opinion how the county's fire and rescue service is shaped in the coming year. The crmp is the the fire services plan to make sure they are best serving the community in the best way possible but you get to help decide that looks by using the survey shared below. It only takes a short time to complete and your opinion genuinely matters

Our proposals for the next four years set out how we intend to ensure that West Sussex remains a safe place to live, work and visit.
