Well it's been our last ever youth group tonight. Fun, but also a sad night. We first opened in October 2009 and have been open nearly every Friday since. We have supported 100's of young people, had four weekend residentials aswell as approximately 50 trips out in the community. Over the years we have relied on the support of volunteers who gave up their time on a Friday night. A big thanks goes out to these kind people. We also would like to thank businesses and community groups who have provided funding to the group. Our main funding has always come from East Riding council who really valued our community support. Thank you to everyone who gave me cards tonight. I have so many lovely memories over the years. I really don't know what I will do on a Friday night in the future. Scott.

The Youth Group will sadly be shutting in 2018.

The group has been struggling to provide consistent and positive youth group sessions for many months due to a lack of volunteers and also difficulties in acquiring more volunteers to support the group, despite various recruitment campaigns. We have also noticed a drop in our member’s numbers and this is felt to be due to a number of factors, which include other groups taking place in the local area on a Friday.
Group Leader Scott Burton, is no longer able to continue to provide the support the group needs. As the group now has only a few volunteers and without strong leadership and a dedicated committee we are unable to take the group forward and therefore the group will unfortunately have to close.
Clearly this is very sad news.
It will take a while to wind down the group, with a few key things to sort out including our excess funds and equipment. Items will be donated to other local groups and any excess funds will be donated to other local groups or charities as decided by existing committee members
It is suggested that we have one last night whereby young people can come as usual to the group. It is proposed that we do this on the Friday 19th January 2018. 6.30 to 8.30 as usual. This night will be free.

The group are currently struggling to provide a consistent and positive youth group sessions every Friday and this will become more difficult in the near future. This is been due to a lack of volunteers and also difficulties in acquiring more volunteers to support the group. We have also noticed a drop in our member’s numbers and this is felt to be due to a number of factors, which include Swimming, dance and football services taking place in the local area on a Friday. We are therefore considering other options as to whether we can continue to provide a youth group service to young people in Hedon and the surrounding areas.
We therefore seek your views as to what parents and young people want from the youth group in the future.

It is proposed that we end the sessions on Friday evenings as this is an evening whereby volunteer recruitment is difficult and other activities take place. We also plan to reduce the amount of sessions we offer in the year and therefore plan to only meet once a month, with these plans been reviewed in April 2018.
Please provide your views as to whether you feel that your child will still attend the youth group if we made these changes and also if they have a preference as to what night they are available and would attend.
Please provide your views below or contact Scott Burton on 07411 747426
