We are pleased to confirm that Wi******er City Council has now given its final outstanding approval for the Curdridge Neighbourhood Plan – confirming that an Environmental Impact Assessment is not required.

This means we can now move forward to the next stage: the Regulation 14 (Reg14) public consultation. This is where we formally consult with residents and local organisations on the final version of the Neighbourhood Plan, which focuses on our Design Code policy.

After the consultation, the Plan will be submitted to Wi******er City Council under Regulation 15, who will then manage the remaining stages through to adoption.

RECYCLING SURVEY — HAVE YOUR SAY

Wi******er City Council is asking residents to share their views on the future of recycling across the district, and Curdridge residents are encouraged to take part.

The survey is open until 8 March, so there’s still time to make your voice heard.

As a reminder, your recycling bin currently accepts paper, cardboard, plastic bottles, tins, cans and aerosols. If you’re ever unsure what goes where, Wi******er City Council provides a helpful A–Z recycling guide on their website.

You can complete the survey here:

♻️ Looking to the future of recycling ♻️

Wi******er City Council is asking residents to share their views on recycling as it plans for future changes across the district.

Following the rollout of food waste collections, the council is now preparing for improvements that will allow a wider range of recycling to be collected from households. To help shape these plans, residents are invited to take part in a short survey.

📅 The survey is open until 8 March.

👉 Take part in the survey and have your say:

Safe disposal of small electrical items 🔌♻️

Wi******er City Council is reminding residents to dispose of small electrical items safely to help reduce the risk of fires. Electrical items (anything with a battery, plug or cable) should never be placed in your waste or recycling bin. In the past year, waste crews have dealt with several collection vehicle fires caused by incorrectly disposed electrical items.

How to recycle safely

Small electrical items (WEEE) such as kettles, toasters, torches and hair appliances can be collected separately. Items must fit into a standard-sized carrier bag (no black bags). Place the bag next to your waste or recycling bin on collection day

Batteries and vapes should be placed in a small, clear plastic bag and left on top of the bin (not inside)

Alternatively, small electrical items can be taken to a local WEEE drop-off point.

👉 Find your nearest recycling point and learn more:

Christmas Tree Recycling Collections 🎄♻️

Wi******er City Council will collect real Christmas trees for recycling as part of the usual garden waste service between Monday 12 January and Friday 23 January.

Please remove all decorations before placing your tree outside for collection. Trees over five feet tall should be cut into smaller sections so they can be safely loaded into the collection vehicle.

Alternatively, real Christmas trees can be recycled via the green waste containers at your local household waste and recycling centre.

We’re delighted to share that Curdridge has been recognised at the CPRE Hampshire Countryside Awards.

The Curdridge rural affordable housing scheme was a winner at this year’s awards, recognising the care taken to deliver much-needed homes for people with a strong local connection, while respecting the character of our village and surrounding countryside.

This is a real achievement for Curdridge and reflects the time, thought and collaboration that went into the project. Thank you to everyone involved in helping make it possible.
