Heddon Parish Council have received and approved the Annual Governance and Accountability Return (AGAR) 2025 -26. Residents have the right to inspect and make copies of the paperwork relating to this financial year. More information on how to exercise these rights can be found in the Elector Rights Notice on the noticeboard in Taberna Close and on the Parish Council website.

LOCAL PLAN CONSULTATION
Northumberland County Council is starting to prepare a new Local Plan for Northumberland. A local plan explains how an area should grow and change in the future and how housing needs will be met. To find our more and to have your say on what the plan should focus on, please follow the link below:

Butterfly Garden Volunteer Session
Wednesday 17th June 6-7pm
We are looking for volunteers to help maintain the planters at the Butterfly Garden. If you can spare a little time, please come along and help us. Please bring hand tools and wear appropriate clothing. In the event of bad weather, the session will be cancelled.

BUTTERFLY GARDEN PLANTERS
We are looking for volunteers to help us maintain the 5 raised bed style planters at the Butterfly Garden. This could involve planting, weeding and watering. Please contact the clerk on [email protected] if this is something you can help with.

Applications are open for this year’s LOVE Northumberland Awards – the annual celebration of all that is great about community environmental work in the county.

Community groups, schools and individuals can apply in six different award categories for projects and initiatives which improve their local areas or neighbourhoods.

The Parish Council is moving to a gov.uk domain. This means our email and web address have changed.

The clerk email address is now: [email protected]
The website address is now: www.heddonparish.gov.uk

All other contact details remain the same. We will still monitor the old email address for the time being.

The parish of Heddon on the Wall comprises the settlements of Heddon Village, East Heddon, West Heddon & Close House, Rudchester and Whitchester.

PLANTERS
I am currently updating contact details for the volunteers who look after planters.

If you look after any of the following planters for the Parish Council:
The plastic planter next to the bus stop opposite the Methodist Chapel
The 3 large composite planters at the junction near Overhill
The 3 wooden planters near the entrance to the library
The wooden rectangular planter at the entrance to the village from the A69
The wooden rectangular planter at the entrance to the village from Throckley

HEDDON LIBRARY DROP IN
There will be a drop in session at Heddon Library this Friday (13th March) from 1.30 to 3.30pm. Feel free to pop in, chat to volunteers and library staff and find out more about the Library Services consultation which is currently underway.
