Stubbings Infant School

Stubbings Infant School We are an Infant School located in the heart of Hebden Bridge. Our children are 3-7 years old. Stubbings is part of a vibrant and creative community.

Stubbings Infant School is located on the hillside of Hebden Bridge, a former mill town in the heart of the Pennines. Built in 1878, the Grade II listed building has been well maintained and developed to create a warm, welcoming environment with lots of character. Children are valued as individuals and encouraged to be independent, creative and enthusiastic learners. The school has excellent relat

ionships with the children and families and provides a safe caring environment where children are nurtured and challenged to achieve their best.

One of the many joys of working with young children is witnessing their wonderful imaginations. Some of our Acorns class were very busy creating something this morning and very proudly showed off their lion. Apparently it's a fierce one so watch out!

World Book Day 2025

World Book Day 2025 will take place on Thursday 6 March 2025.
This annual celebration of authors, illustrators, books, and the joy of reading is one of our favourite days!

Why is World Book Day important?

World Book Day provides a fantastic opportunity to focus on reading for pleasure, sharing our favourite books and embedding a habit of reading that brings a wide range of benefits. We're always hugely excited to work with our friends at World Book Day, the charity whose mission is to promote reading for pleasure, offering every child and young person the opportunity to have a book of their own by giving them a World Book Day £1 books/tokens.
These can be redeemed for any £1 book from Thursday 13 February to Sunday 23 March 2025 in bookshops, bookshop chains and participating retailers. Alternatively, they can also be used as a £1 contribution to any other book – at the retailer or bookseller’s direction. The single-use digital token can also be downloaded from the World Book Day website.

To celebrate our love of books and reading on Thursday 6th March we will be:
- Inviting children to come to school dressed as a favourite book character
- Asking children to bring their favourite book to share with their friends
- Welcoming grown-ups into class to read their favourite children’s stories (please contact your child’s class teacher).

We will also be doing lots on the day to celebrate our love of reading.
