It was a pleasure to be invited to take part in an inclusive cycling event put on by West Yorkshire Combined Authority at Todmorden Health Centre this weekend, providing a host of free biking activities for the local community, and promoting various active travel initiatives we have available to people to get more involved with cycling activities across Calderdale. I felt very privileged to be representing Cargodale, promoting the new business, answering questions and offering try-outs of the cargo bike (though sadly no one was brave enough to have a go!) alongside other wonderful organisations Everybody's Cycling, Little Bikers, Hostel, Hebden Bridge, Todmorden Makery and Cadence Cycleworks Todmorden. It was especially fun watching people enjoying the array of accessible bikes provided by Everybody's Cycling, and to see the little bikers jumping ramps and tearing up the track opposite my stall! π΄ββοΈπ€π
If you are interested in getting involved with local cycling activities, accessing learn to ride courses, renting a bike or accessing free bike maintenance workshops, do take a moment to check out the Active Calderdale website for advice and a list of the services and activities available to you in your local community. There is so much wonderful work being done in active travel across the valley and so many opportunities to get involved. I work as a cycle instructor alongside running Cargodale, so if you would like to know more about cycle training courses available in your local community, please feel free to give me a shout!
Have a lovely week everyone π€
