What a wonderful day we had on Bank Holiday Monday 4th May. The combination of Here's Headley, the Grand Opening of Headley Pavilion, glorious weather and hundreds of visitors made it a memorable occasion. After a rousing call to action from Frankie Milam, our Headley Bagpiper, Cllr. Mark Dickens Chairman of Headley Parish Council welcomed us all to the new pavilion. After a few more words, Cllr. Graham Hill, Chairman EHDC and Greg Stafford MP opened the Headley Pavilion by unveiling a plaque. Formalities over, we enjoyed the 40+ stalls, food trucks, fire engine and face painting! Here are a few memories, courtesey of Carol and Paul at Tansley Photography. If you enjoyed listening to Frankie Milam, please support his fundraising to help less fortunate families take part in the Scouts World Jamboree in 2027. https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/frankie-milam

A fantastic effort from the Headley & Arford Litter Pickers on Saturday 🎉🎉

In just 2 hours, they collected 20 bags of litter and rubbish, an amazing result that will make a big difference to the area ahead of a sunny spring! ☀️🌻

Even better, it coincided with International Earth Day 🌍 — definitely one to mark day.

We were delighted to welcome the hard workers back to The Crown afterwards for well-earned drinks and lite bites 🍻

Time to do some quick fixing between rain showers! Neil Hardinge had generously donated a lovely quince tree for the Community Orchard in memory of his late wife. We planted this a few weeks ago and it is budding strongly now. It needs a bit of protection before the deer notice! Councillors Steve Thair and Neville Merritt got their heavy duty tools out and put deer fencing around the new tree to give it a head start. They also installed a larger fence to protect our maple tree, because someone keeps snipping it!
