πŸ™Œ VOLUNTEERS WEEK 2026 πŸ™Œ

⭐ Civilian Committee -

And Finally, to conclude the week, we would love to say a massive thank you to every single member of our Civilian Committee as, without them, we are unable to open as a Squadron and wouldn’t be able to present such incredible, life-changing experiences to each and every one of our cadets.

Just in the last year, our CivCom have brought the goal of purchasing a new minibus, to reality. Giving our cadets a means of transport to events that they can be proud of.

Thank you EVERYONE! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

⭐ CI Dawson -

CI Dawson has volunteered as a civilian instructor at 172 for multiple years now and has worked closely alongside the Bulldog project.

More specifically, he has been a key figure in the development and maintenance of all of our flight simulators on the squadron, both virtual reality headsets and our static simulators. Without him, we simply wouldn’t be able to operate them and wouldn’t be able to give so many aviation and aerospace experiences to young people.

Currently, CI Dawson is working on changing one of our two 180*, single seater simulators, into a dual, side-by-side simulator to more closely align with the Grob Tutor, the aircraft used for AEF within the Air Cadets.

⭐ CI Bradley -

CI Bradley is one of 172 newest staff volunteers, only joining this year! However, he brings bucket-loads of incredible, inspiring experiences to share with our cadets.

β€œThe reason why I volunteer for Air Cadets is that my son, Dylan, has recently joined the 172 and is very keen to join the Royal Air Force as a pilot. I served as an Royal Air Force pilot for 12 years before having a career in civil aviation, as such I feel that I have some knowledge, experience and contacts that I can share with all the cadets and help them achieve their goals.”

Thank you sir! 🀩
