Happy Sussex Day!
A day to celebrate Sussex, what's your favourite thing about the county?

Sussex Day is on 16 June and has become a popular way for residents to celebrate its rich heritage and everything that is good about the county.
The date was chosen because it is St Richard's Day, which marks the life of St Richard, Bishop of Chichester from 1245 until his death in 1253.

A new generation of entrepreneurial talent has once again been showcased through the Youth Entrepreneurs Academy Haywards Heath (YEAHH), as seventeen local students successfully completed the programme and demonstrated their skills at a vibrant Business Fair held at The Orchards Shopping Centre on Saturday 30th May.

Now in its second year, YEAHH is led by Haywards Heath Town Council with the continued support of the Haywards Heath Business Association and Orchards Shopping Centre, Haywards Heath. The initiative aims to inspire young people, develop practical business skills, and provide valuable real-world experience for aspiring entrepreneurs from across the local area.

Students in school years 10 and 12 took part in the programme, which brings together young people with a passion for business, enterprise and leadership. This year, seventeen students participated in a series of interactive masterclasses delivered by experienced business professionals from the Haywards Heath Business Association.

Throughout the spring, participants explored a range of essential business topics including marketing, finance, networking, communication, leadership and problem-solving. The sessions were designed to help students build confidence, develop practical skills and gain a greater understanding of what it takes to turn an idea into a successful venture.

Congratulations to all who took part!

Drowning Prevention Week is a timely reminder that water can be enjoyable, but it can also be dangerous if we don’t respect it.

Whether you're visiting the beach, spending time by rivers, lakes or canals, or enjoying water activities, knowing how to stay safe can save lives.

Take a moment to familiarise yourself with the Water Safety Code:
Stop and think
Stay together
Float
Call 999 if someone is in trouble

By understanding the risks and knowing what to do in an emergency, we can all help prevent drowning and keep ourselves, our families and our communities safe.

- Hometown Highlights -

This week's highlight is from Rob Becvar, owner of RBPM & Direct Home Maintenance.

In May this year, Rob cycled 190km to a football club in Essex (Brightlingsea Regent FC) to raise money for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity following the passing of one of his best friends, Graham George. This club in Essex was one Rob & Graham accidentally started supporting but fell in love with!

So far to date, he has raised an impressive £5,283.60, and has kindly asked if anyone would like to support this amazing charity by donating via his Just Giving link: https://buff.ly/A1Z4OD7

Congratulations to Rob and well done for fundraising so much for an important cause!
