This World Environment Day, we’re celebrating the wild beauty of our meadows and the wildlife they support. 🌼🐝

At Nymans, we’re always learning, adapting and finding new ways to nurture nature. From creating and restoring meadow habitats to improving biodiversity across the estate, every step helps build a healthier, more resilient landscape for the future.

Because caring for our environment is an ongoing journey, and there’s always more to learn. 💚

Beautiful Doorways🌿

While taking shelter from the rain, you can really begin to appreciate just how many beautiful doorways Nymans has. They are very much part of its romantic charm, with stone-framed entrances revealing glimpses of rooms and garden vistas beyond, creating a wonderful sense of drama and discovery.

So don’t let the rain ☔️ spoil your visit, simply see Nymans from a different perspective and enjoy the beauty that reveals itself when you slow down and look a little closer.

Come join us? We are running a drop in day at Nymans on Saturday 6 June, 2-4pm in the Welcome Hub. We have lots of volunteering opportunities over the Summer (esp school holidays).
🌿The session is free, so anyone coming to talk about volunteering with us who is not a NT member can come in free.

Here we meet Albertino, his passion for the environment led him to join our team of amazing volunteers. Know anyone that could be interested? Do share and tag in this reel. Alternatively you can email or message us with your interest.

A huge thank you to all our volunteers 🙏🙏

( note our Garden in the Ruin can only open if we have enough volunteers on the day 🙏)

🎭 Outdoor Theatre - A Midsummer Night’s Dream

🧺🥂Join us for this adaptation of William Shakespeare's much-loved story, set against the backdrop of Nymans romantic ruins. Bring a picnic and sit back and relax. Suitable for audiences of all ages. Fri 5 Jun: Gates 6pm, performance 7pm - 9pm.

🌿The woods outside Athens are busy this night. Four young Athenian lovers are lost. Oberon and Titania, the king and queen of the fairy-folk, are quarrelling whilst a group of craftsmen (who also happen to be some not-so-very-talented actors) are meeting in secret to rehearse their play.

✨Too many characters and not enough actors will see Shakespeare's story of love, mistaken identity and magic brought to life in a comedic and potentially hat-astrophic production.

Staff captures from the week 🌿

As we wander through the gardens, our eyes are drawn to different corners. Each of us sees Nymans through our own lens, noticing the plants, colours and moments that catch our attention.

This week, some of our team favourites include the rambling Rector rose weaving through the dry beds, the white wisteria now taking over from the purple on the pergola, the beautiful Calycanthus ‘Venus’, and the striking Aesculus wilsonii.

The gardens are always changing, and that’s part of what makes them so special, there’s always something new to discover, depending on where your gaze falls.

These are our picks from the week. What are yours? We’d love to see the gardens through your eyes too. Share your favourite Nymans moments in the comments. 🌸✨
